Panos Eastern Africa has given 13 computers worth over Ushs. 44M (equivalent to 13, 500 Euros) to 13 media houses in Uganda in its on-going effort to boost and improve media content in the areas of governance and accountability.
The computers have been given under Panos Eastern Africa’s Media for Democratic Governance and Accountability Project (MDGAP) which is funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Uganda.
According to Pauline Okoth, the Project Officer in charge of MDGAP, the computers will support the production of content in the areas of governance and accountability.
The media houses which received the computers are partnering with Panos in the implementation of the project. Among them are 10 radio stations drawn from across the country, two television stations based in Kampala and one Newspaper.
